Welcome, Future Changemakers

In our ever-changing world, every interaction is a chance to make an impact. We are not side-line sitters; we are changemakers, heart changers, and we live an imprint - not a light one, but one that alters the landscape, challenges minds, forges new futures, and reimagines the status quo.

School of Education faculty cultivate future leaders who are innovative problem-solvers that seek to have a positive impact on society. We develop cutting-edge, high-quality research and leverage human capital to address the most pressing societal challenges facing the state, nation, and world.

Imagine a profession where you break limitations, shape minds, and innovate inspiration. As a teacher, you become an illuminator of change, a gardener of young minds, and a cultivator of spaces where futures can grow. You’re a superhero in disguise.

Imagine being remembered 50 years later for sparking the wonder that turned youthful curiosities into impactful solutions—solutions that left the world a better place.

Two Living Learning Laboratory Schools

The College of Human Sciences & Education is home to LSU’s youngest academic community members. The Early Childhood Education Laboratory School (ECELP) and the University Laboratory School (ULS) are innovation hubs for creativity and experimentation, application of new knowledge and research, discoveries, and problem-solving processes. They are places to learn from challenges and mistakes. These schools encourage children to try new ideas, take risks, and continue to grow as learners.

ECELP is a Reggio Emilia-inspired research facility that is aligned with undergraduate and graduate programs in early childhood education. ECELP is NAEYC accredited and educates children as young as six weeks through four-year-olds.

ULS, a K-12 school, opened in 1915. For more than 100 years, the Cub Community has aspired towards total effort in every endeavor for maximum student achievement through developing, implementing, and demonstrating exemplary programs and instructional practices.
