A New Era for Ogden
The Ogden Honors College has transformed its curriculum. Students will now be able to choose structured, intentional pathways to graduation, ensuring they gain interdisciplinary knowledge, research experience, and the essential leadership skills for professional and academic achievement. The new curriculum reinforces the college’s commitment to developing well-rounded, high-achieving graduates. The change also puts the Ogden Honors College in a select group of honors programs nationally.
For those who seek an immersive honors experience, Honors Traditions in Critical Thought and Scholarship (TRACTS) BA provides an interdisciplinary degree rooted in the humanities and the sciences. TRACTS fosters ethical reasoning, research-based inquiry, and effective communication, while preparing students for leadership roles in business, industry, and public service.
Students desiring a more flexible honors experience can pursue an Honors Minor, Honors Research Minor, LASAL (Louisiana Service and Leadership) Minor, or LASAL Research Minor—each pathway designed to complement any major at LSU while fostering interdisciplinary problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative collaboration.
LSU's Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College engages a diverse population of high-achieving students in a dynamic interaction of outstanding instruction, innovative research, and public service.
We help our students make the most of their undergraduate experience. Here, we offer an established curriculum, the opportunity for research, and faculty mentorship. Our small, seminar-based courses will give you a more dynamic and personal academic experience—one that will define you as a scholar and an individual beyond your time at LSU. We also understand that excellence transcends the classroom, so we champion holistic learning, cultural awareness, and community engagement. Our campus within a campus will become your home away from home. Here, your interests and aspirations guide your education, allowing you to serve your community, study abroad, conduct research, and prepare for your career. Here, you have the freedom to explore. By the time you walk across that stage and receive your diploma, you will have the skills and knowledge to go forth and create the future you have always wanted.
